How to clear Google Chrome history automatically

Do you want to delete Google Chrome history automatically using the basic functions offered by the big G web browser (therefore, to be exact, going to remove cookies)? Yup? Well, then, for starters, start the browser on your computer. On Windows you can do this by accessing the menu Hometyping Google Chrome in the displayed search field and then pressing on the first result that is shown to you or by double clicking on the Google Chrome icon attached to the desktop (if present, of course).

If you are using a Mac, you can launch Google Chrome via its icon attached to Launchpad. Alternatively, you can search for big G's browse in the folder Applications and double-click on its icon or by invoking Spotlight (clicking sull'icona a forma di magnifying glass present in the upper right part of the menu bar). On Linux, however, you can start the Google home navigation by clicking on the icon Search on your computer annexed to Launchertyping Google Chrome in the search field at the top and clicking on the browser icon.

Then click on the icon Menu (I cheer with i three dots) which is located at the top right and selects the item Settings from the menu that is shown to you. Then scroll down the tab that opened in the program window, locate the item Show advanced settings… and click on it.

Now find the section Privacyclick on your bottone Content settings ..., put a check mark next to the item It stores local data only until the browser is closed that you find the wording Cookie and then click on the button end to apply the changes made. Done! In this way, every time the browser is closed, all cookies and other local data (images and temporary files and so on) will be automatically deleted.

Obviously, in case you have to reconsider you can always and in any case restore the default settings of Google Chrome simply by accessing the advanced settings of the program again as seen above, locate the section Privacyby clicking on the relevant button content settings and selecting the option Allow data to be saved locally (recommended) that you find under the heading Cookie. Then click on the button end to apply the changes.

As I told you, if you find the function already integrated by big G in your browser unsatisfactory, you can delete Google Chrome history by using a special extension: Click & Clean. To install it immediately on Google Chrome, connected to the appropriate section of the Chrome Web Store via the link I have just provided, click on the button Add located at the top right of the new tab that opened and then click on the button Add extension.

Once the installation is complete, ignore the additional tabs that have opened in the browser window and click on the Click & Clan button (a white “C” with a red background) that has been added next to the address bar. Then select the button options in the menu that is shown to you, locate the section Extras of the new window displayed on the screen and put a check mark next to the item Delete personal data when Chrome closes.

Done! From now on, every time you close Google Chrome, the history and all other browsing data will be automatically deleted without you having to lift a finger. Happy?

If you then have to think again, you can always and in any case disable the function to delete Google Chrome history automatically when the browser is closed simply by going back to the Click & Clean options and removing the check mark from the item Delete personal data when Chrome closes. Alternatively, if you think the extension can't be more useful to you, you can also disable or delete it. If you don't know how, read my tutorial on how to delete Chrome extensions.
