Add a clickable index to a PDF -

The main functionality of a INDEX in any book or newspaper is to allow the reader to see what the general contents are in it and, if necessary, go immediately to the page that contains the desired information. Also PDF documents, especially those containing several pages, may have an organization based on a "summary" or "general index", usually located at the first page of the document itself.

In addition, since PDF is a digital format, one could think of adding an “interactive” index, that is clickable: in this way the user will not have to manually go to the indicated page but will be able to click on the index entry and immediately view the paragraph in which he is interested.

If you have a PDF document in your hands that does not contain an index, below you will discover the steps to create it from scratch thanks to the program PDFelement.
