The second formula costs €10 per month and includes 40 GB of mobile internet (and 7 GB abroad). The third package costs €13 per month and includes 70 GB of mobile internet (and 12 GB abroad). The fourth subscription is €15 per month and contains 100 GB of data (and 14 GB abroad). Finally, the most "heavy" with 130 GB is €19 (the 5G option is charged €5 more). Here's what you need to know about this no-commitment mobile plan.

1. Wait for the right moment to subscribe to the RED by SFR package
The unlimited RED offer has a 4G Internet envelope and a variable geometry tariff, oscillating between 1 and 130 GB for a price ranging from €5 to €19 on sale. It is also possible to take the 130 GB package in 5G for an additional €5, which amounts to paying €24 per month of subscription.
This is the main subtlety of this package, a bucket of data and a fluctuating price according to promotions. The quantity of data included in the offer for this price range must therefore condition the choice of the future customer. Also, when the RED Unlimited plan includes less than 60 GB of data - which has become very rare - we recommend that you wait a few weeks so that it is enriched and benefits from a more comfortable envelope. Conversely, when the price is €15, €14 or even €13 for 80 GB, you can consider RED's proposal carefully.
2. A single RED by SFR package, but customizable
Since the summer of 2019, there is therefore only one plan at RED and it can evolve according to your data needs and your voice/text consumption in Spain and abroad. The basic formula at 13€ per month includes this week 70 go of date. If that's not enough for you, you can switch to the €19 plan with 130 GB.
3. What is included in the RED by SFR package
Each formula includes unlimited calls to all mobiles and landlines in mainland Spain and overseas departments, as well as unlimited SMS and MMS to all operators in mainland Spain and 100 GB of cloud storage. Note that these formulas also include unlimited calls, SMS and MMS from the European Union and the overseas departments.
For €5, the package includes 5 GB of internet in Spain (including 6 GB abroad). For 10€, you will end up with 40 GB (including 7 GB abroad). The €13 package offers an envelope of 70 GB (including 12 GB abroad). If you turn to the one at €15 per month, 100 GB of data will be usable (including 14 GB abroad), and with the one at €19, you will be entitled to 130 GB of data (including 15 GB abroad). Add €5 per month to this last offer and you will have access to 5G.
4. RED by SFR abroad?
The RED by SFR package with 5 GB at €5 per month includes 6 GB of internet to be used from the European Union and the overseas departments. Beyond that, the data will be billed at €0,007/MB. Ditto for the other packages. With the €10 per month offer, you will have 7 GB to use from the European Union and the French overseas departments. The one at €13 with 70 GB gives a 12 GB envelope to be used from the European Union and the overseas departments. With the offer at €15 per month and 100 GB of data, it will be 14 GB to be used in Europe and in the overseas departments. Finally, the 130 GB 4G or 5G package allows you to use 15 GB of Internet abroad (€19 per month in 4G, 24 in 5G). From these destinations, subscribers will also have unlimited calls/SMS/MMS (3 hours max per call and limited to 200 different recipients per month).
The offer is very flexible so you can always increase this data envelope according to your needs, for holidays only for example, then come back to a basic offer when you wish, always without commitment of duration. Different options (unlimited calls to landlines in Europe, calls to mobiles and landlines in the Maghreb, unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles in North America, etc.) billed between €1 and €29 per month can be added to these two formulas.
5. How to switch between the different formulas of the package?
If you are a new subscriber, simply select the offer that best suits your needs when subscribing. Subscribers can then easily and instantly switch to another formula via RED by SFR customer service or the RED&Moi application (downloadable for free from the Play Store or App Store).
6. The RED by SFR package is (really) unlimited in duration?
SFR's RED Unlimited offer was marketed for a long time as unlimited in duration, even for life. Understand that the price as the Internet envelope will not change after one year as is sometimes the practice on the promotions of non-binding operators. In practice, the operators reserve the right to increase the rates of old promotions. Witness, the 30 GB offer at €5 offered in 2018 by RED by SFR went down at the end of 2020 to €8 for 40 GB. Operators are now communicating on promotional packages no price that doubles after one year.
7. How to take advantage of the no-obligation plan
Remember that these are non-binding offers, thus giving subscribers more flexibility to switch from one operator offer to another by following promotions on mobile plans. To subscribe to the offer while keeping its telephone number, you will need to obtain your RIO by dialing 3179 on your smartphone. Once your RIO has been recovered, the new operator will take care of porting your number.
8. And unlimited by RED / SFR?
The concept of unlimited is now well established with our French operators and we naturally find it on offers without commitments, which no longer have much low cost. In the case of our RED at €13 or €15, the subscriber will thus benefit from unlimited calls / SMS / MMS to landlines and mobiles in mainland Spain and the overseas departments (excluding Mayotte) and from the European Union and the overseas departments.
9. The subtleties of use
In the small lines, we can read that it should not exceed 3 hours max per call and that this unlimited is actually limited to 200 different recipients per month. Likewise, if you manage to exceed the considerable Internet envelope granted by the operator for mainland Spain, the speed will not be limited, but you will have to opt for refills of 1 GB billed at €2, within the limit of 4 refills. It is then blocked. If you exceed the data envelope reserved for the European Union and the overseas departments, you will be billed under the SFR Voyage conditions. Remember that modem use of this Internet envelope (sharing the 4G connection to a PC or tablet for example) is authorized, as is peer to peer.
10. And the cover of RED by SFR?
According to the 4G Monitor score of March 2021 (connection tests carried out by subscribers of the various operators), SFR is back ahead of Bouygues Telecom with 41,6 Mbs in download and 10 Mbs in upload against 38,1 Mbs in download and 11,9 Mbs in upload for its direct competitor. Orange retains its crown with 62,7 Mbs in reception and 11,5 Mbs in transmission. Long stalled, Free sticks to the three incumbents and approaches Bouygues with 40 Mbs in download and 9,2 Mbs in upload.
According to Arcep, the telecoms policeman, SFR would have the best 4G coverage in the territory. With regard to the other indices of average speeds and 4G coverage, SFR is credited with the following values:

- Average uplink speed: 11 Mb / s
- 4G coverage Population: 99%
- 4G coverage Territory: 92%
11. Should we go?
SFR's RED offer was already scoring points on the fundamentals: solid 4G coverage and average speed, non-binding offer with a price without time limits (and not 12 months as is sometimes the case with the competition), unlimited voice/sms/mms and a very comfortable data envelope for mainland Spain. By adding more flexibility to its offer with the possibility of easily adjusting its data envelope in Spain or abroad according to your needs, RED seems to want to once again break the contract market without commitment.
This offer is gaining even more appeal, we appreciate the flexibility offered on an already solid package and particularly the fact that the modifications are applied or canceled instantly, at no additional cost and always without commitment. This week, the basic formula of RED by SFR is still as interesting. Displayed at 13€, it allows you to take advantage of a nice envelope of 70 GB in 4G for metropolitan Spain. It is also very generous for foreign countries with an additional 12 GB in 4G for Europe and the overseas departments. These are therefore two distinct envelopes offered by RED by SFR.
