How to use Chrome's antivirus

Given the continued growth of cyber attacks, users are increasingly attentive to cyber security and privacy while browsing online. And it is precisely for this reason that even Google has decided to include an antivirus system in its famous one Chrome web browser.

To be honest, Google had already announced the launch of an antivirus designed for Chrome since 2017, only a long time has passed between the presentation and the actual implementation on the web browser. But now theantivirus for Chrome is ready and has been released in the latest version of the Mountain View browser. But be careful: having an antivirus on Chrome it doesn't mean we won't need another antivirus installed on our computer. In fact, Google's cybersecurity system detects only known threats that affect online browsing. Like the adware for web browsers, i.e. malicious programs that install in our browser and show us unwanted ads. However, Chrome's antivirus does not have a defense system against other types of cyber attacks and does not have a machine-learning algorithm to recognize zero-day attacks like many of the antivirus software out there.

How to use Google Chrome antivirus

Google's antivirus for the Chrome browser works on Windows computers only at the moment, so no implementation on Linux and MacOS. It is a malware scanner that acts automatically at the browser level but can also be activated for a deep scan manually by the user. At this point the question is: how do i use google antivirus manually? Very simple, we open Chrome, then type in the URL bar  chrome: // settings / cleanup (for convenience you can also copy and paste the strunga) and wait for the screen to load.  On the page that opens, we will find the item find and remove malicious software. We click on the button Find to start scanning with the antivirus and wait for the process to finish. Mountain View partnered with the cybersecurity company to make this tool ESET. The company's researchers say that the system will work very well automatically to detect threats, but the advice is to use manual scanning in case of downloading various files from the Internet.
