Here is the procedure to follow to transfer photos received on your iOS via iMessage:

  • Open the app Messages on your iPhone.
  • Tap on the conversation containing the files to back up.
  • Go to the name of your contact, And then Info.
  • Choose an image. 
  • At the bottom left of it, tap the share icon.
  • Select Save.

To archive multiple images at once, follow these steps: 



  • Open the app Messages on your iPhone.

Automatically save photos via AirDrop

As mentioned above, for some unknown reason, Apple does not allow automatic backup of photos received via iMessage. However, there's another way to make them appear in your iPhone's library, thanks to AirDrop.

If you are in the presence of the person you want to share your files with, then use AirDrop. To do this, first make sure it is configured: 


  • Go to your Center de contrôle.
  • Hold down the graphics network card (the square where the Airplane Mode, WiFi, Cellular Data and Bluetooth icons are).
  • Tap on the option AirDrop.
  • Then choose the sharing mode to activate, Contacts only ou Everybody.
