Apple: seven new Macs are expected in 2022

The year 2022 promises to be busy for the Mac department of Apple, with more than half a dozen launches on the program.

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman wrote in his latest Power On newsletter titled "Return of the Mac" that he expects the company to develop seven new models powered by Apple Silicon processors.

These next computers will carry a mix of chips, including the new M2 processor as well as the M1 Pro and M1 Max released last year, or even a new, more powerful version of the M1 Max.

It's not yet clear which models will accommodate them, but Gurman offers a few suggestions. Indeed, he estimates that the following Macs will be marketed:

    • Mac mini M1 Pro.
    • MacBook Pro 13 inch M2.
    • Mac mini M2.
    • iMac 24 inch M2.
    • MacBook Air M2.
    • iMac Pro M1 Pro and M1 Max optional.
    • Mac Pro M1 Max.

The first batch of 2022 Mac models are expected to be unveiled at a Keynote in March. While the presentation will likely focus on the iPhone SE 3 5G and iPad Air, Gurman says he expects a new Mac to launch as well.

He predicts that the entry-level MacBook Pro and Mac mini will be the first to get an update, as they are two of the oldest Apple Silicon in the line.

With Jon Prosser looming in the background and Ming-Chi Kuo being heard a little less these days, Gurman has become the go-to Apple expert for launch predictions, and he obviously has some good contacts. .

Be careful, however, it should be kept in mind that its success rate is not flawless. According to AppleTrack, Gurman's accuracy is 85,5%, which is excellent, but not perfect.
