After two rather quiet first months of the year for Apple, things finally picked up speed in March. Indeed, the firm held a special event on March 8, during which it revealed several new products.

Here's everything that was unveiled at the Peek Performance conference, the first in a series.

Spring 2022 Apple Event

As aforementioned, Apple's first event of the year is called Peek Performance and took place on Tuesday, March 8. Like previous events, it was broadcast entirely online from 19 p.m. French time.

Among the products announced are a new third-generation iPhone SE, an updated iPad Air and the icing on the cake: a new kind of desktop computer, the Mac Studio, and a screen, the Studio Display.

The Cupertino company also took advantage of its conference to present the arrival of films and series on Apple TV+.

How to Review the Peek Performance Event

To (re)watch Apple's Keynote, and get updates on the brand's releases, go to Apple's Youtube channel, via the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.

New products

A big spring event necessarily means the release of new Apple products. We were able to witness the launch of a third iPhone SE, a fifth iPad Air and a first Mac Studio.

All will be available for pre-order from March 11 and for sale on March 18, 2022.

iPhone SE (third generation)

A new mid-range Apple iPhone has entered the iOS catalog. It has retained its legendary compact design, with its inseparable Home/Touch ID button.

For modernism, it will be necessary to look at its hardware, in fact, it integrates, like the iPhone flagships, 5G connectivity, the A15 Bionic chip, an improved 12 Mp photo sensor with f / 1,8 aperture.

iPad Air (5th generation)

The iPad Air 5 is very similar to the current iPad Air, with an update of its processor for the chip not A15 but M1! The Air thus joins the iPad Pro and the MacBooks.

You'll enjoy an 8-core CPU for up to 60% faster performance and an 8-core GPU for unprecedented graphics quality on a tablet. That's not all, it is a tablet with 5G connectivity, with USB-C port and compatible with the Apple Pencil and the second generation Magic Keyboard. Enough to forget the Pro...

Finally, it is offered in a 64 GB and 256 GB version of storage with 8 GB RAM. On the photo side, find a 12 Mpx rear wide-angle sensor with ƒ / 1,8 aperture and 12 Mpx front sensor with ƒ / 2,4.

MacStudio

Apple created the surprise by unveiling not a redesigned Mac mini but rather a brand new product, unique in its kind: the Mac Studio. An ultra-compact desktop computer, with your choice of M1 Max or M1 Ultra chip. The latter is a new processor from the firm which, according to the brand, is unequaled, it would bring together 114 billion transistors, a number never reached on a personal computer chip.

Finally, it is designed in extruded aluminum with a square shape and incorporates a unique double ventilation system, too.

studio display

The Studio Display is almost identical to the screen of the 27-inch iMac, but with much thinner edges. It features the same 5K resolution, P3 color gamut and True Tone technology.

It's powered by an A13 chip, capable of handling its 12MP ultra-wide front sensor, a three-microphone array and a six-speaker audio system with Spatial Audio.

It also has four USB-C ports (10 Gb/sec) and a Thunderbolt 3 port (48 Gb/sec).

On the other hand, the absence of HDR and ProMotion is regrettable.
