With a budget of $ 21,4 million and an "impact value" of $ 891,1 million (so far), the series Squid Games would have an efficiency judged by Netflix of 41,7. In any case, this is what emerges from documents recovered by Bloomberg .

An indicator that is worth what it is worth, but certainly more telling than "111 million subscriber accounts clicked and watched at least 2 minutes of the series".

Squid Game: an undeniable hit for Netflix

Unlike conventional television, it is always very difficult to accurately estimate the success or otherwise of a series or film on an SVoD platform. The latter keep their numbers secret, and when they do share them, it is seldom anything of real use.

For example, Netflix announced a few days ago that its recent Squid Game series had broken The Chronicles of Bridgerton record with 132 million accounts having watched at least 2 minutes of the series. Data that does not mean much, we will agree.

Numbers that make you dizzy

But the Bloomberg media seems to have obtained internal documents from Netflix which provide some details. First, 89% of viewers who started the series watched at least 75 minutes, or more than one episode. In addition, 87 million people (or 66%) would have finished the show within 23 days of its release. And for fans of big numbers, the Korean series would have been watched for 1,4 billion hours in total.

Also in these documents, we discover that Netflix gives a rating of effectiveness to Squid Game and its other content. High of its 41,7X (a value of 1 seems considered "solid"), the $ 21,4 million budgeted show has reportedly grossed $ 891,1 million in "impact value" so far.

Finally, an AVS score (Adjusted view share) of 353 points would be associated with Squid Game. This number, based on a formula not found in documents, according to Bloomberg, would take into account not only how many people viewed a piece of content, but also the "value" of those people. New users or users who are not usually active would thus have a higher value. An AVS score higher than 9 or 10 would be considered high.

  • The most complete on the market
  • Truly Excellent Original Series
  • Impeccable video compression

American service isn't the most popular in the world for nothing. With an offer of content enriched every week, an always optimal video quality and a very refined user experience, the platform is an essential choice for entertainment. Our only regret remains the constant increase in subscription prices, which makes the service a little less attractive than when it was launched ... Fortunately the number of series and films compensates for this increase.
