If your Sky decoder has the Wi-Fi logo on the front, it means that the latter is enabled for wireless Internet connection. All you have to do is turn on the decoder, take the Sky remote control and establish the connection with your Wi-Fi network.

To proceed, make sure you have turned on the decoder and the TV, then take the remote control and press the button ? to access the Sky menu. In the new screen that appears, access the section Configure, select the voice Set up MySky and verify that the option is selected ON next to the item Integrated Wi-Fi.

Now, use the keys arrow on the remote control to position yourself on the item Data line, pigia sul pulsating OK and wait for the Wi-Fi networks to be scanned, then select yours WIFI network from the list available on the screen, press the button OK, enter the Password and press the button again OK to establish the Internet connection.

If the button is not available on the Sky remote control ?, it means you have an older decoder. If, on the other hand, you are a Sky Q customer and have a decoder Sky Q Platinium o Sky Q Black, to connect the device to the home Internet network, take the Sky remote control, press the button Home (l'icona della casa), select the voice Settings, choose your options Configure e Networks and, in the new screen that appears, choose one of the available options.

  • Connect over Wi-Fi: to connect the decoder to the home Wi-Fi network by entering the password.
  • Connect over Wi-Fi via WPS: to establish a secure connection between the decoder and compatible routers without having to enter the password of your Wi-Fi network.

In the first case, then, select the home Internet network, enter it Password e pulsing sul pulsating Confirmation to establish the connection. If, on the other hand, you have a router set up for connection via WPS, press the relevant button on the modem, then select the item Connect over Wi-Fi via WPS on the decoder and follow the instructions shown on the screen to complete the pairing.

How to connect Sky to the Internet

Sky Link is a Sky certified Wi-Fi device that allows you to connect your decoder to your home router without a direct connection with an Ethernet cable (for example if the two devices are not nearby). It is available in two variants according to your needs.

  • Sky Link Single Band: it is a single device to be used if your modem is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, if the latter is on the same level as the Sky decoder or if there are less than 3 walls between them.
  • Sky Link Dual Band: these are two devices that allow you to connect the non-Wi-Fi modem to the Sky decoder and / or if the two devices are on different floors of the house or separated by more than 3 walls.

If you have chosen one Sky Link Single Band, the procedure to connect the Sky decoder to the Internet is quick and easy. Take, therefore, the Ethernet cable supplied and insert one end into the green door the decoder and the other end into theEthernet input on the back of the Sky Link, then move the power switch of the latter from OFF a ON (you must first plug the power cord into the electrical socket at home) and turn on the decoder.



If, on the other hand, you have opted for one Sky Link Dual Band, take the two devices and, first, make sure the power button is moved to the item OFF. Now, locate the switch AP / Client present on the back of the two Sky Links and set one as AP and one like service, then take the device set as service and connect via Ethernet cable with your modem. Then take the Sky Link set as AP, insert one end of the other Ethernet cable in the appropriate input located on the back of the device, supply the two Sky Links by inserting the power cable into the electrical socket of the house and moving the power button from OFF a ON e pulsing sul pulsating WPS (l'icona delle two arrows) to connect the two Sky Links.

Wait, then, for the LEDs of the two devices to stop flashing (to indicate the pairing) and complete the connection between the Sky Link AP and the decoder by inserting the other end of the Ethernet cable in 'Ethernet input of the Sky decoder.

Now all you have to do is connect the devices to your home Internet network. Then take the Sky remote control, press the button ? (or its pulsating Menu), access the section Configure and choose the item Data line. If your router has Wi-Fi connectivity, select yours network, enter the Password (if you have two Sky Link it is not required) and press the button OK, otherwise wait for the connection to the Internet and check that next to the items Local connection e Remote connection option is present OK. If your Sky decoder has built-in Wi-Fi but the latter is located in an area of ​​the house not reached by the wireless signal of the router, you must know that there are other solutions to connect Sky to the Internet without cable in addition to Sky Link.

Among the devices you can consider, there are the range extender, which allow you to extend the Wi-Fi signal even in areas of the house that are not covered. Their configuration is quite simple: after inserting the device into an electrical socket in the house (in a position reached by the Wi-Fi signal), simply connect to the address given in the instruction manual or download the smartphone app and tablet and follow the wizard to connect the amplifier to your home Internet network. All you have to do is take the Ethernet cable and insert one end into theEthernet input the modem and the other end into theEthernet input, present on the back of the decoder. Now, turn on the latter and tune in to any channel, then take your Sky remote control and check that the connection is active.

First, complete the "physical" connection between decoder and modem by inserting the Ethernet cable supplied in the appropriate inputs of the two devices, then take the Sky remote control, press the button Home (l'icona della casa) and access the Settings by Sky Q.

In the new screen that appears, select the items Configure e Networks and go to the option Connect with Ethernet cable using the arrow keys on the remote control. Press the button OK and wait for the IP address of your Internet network to be acquired by the decoder. If next to the items Local connection e Remote connection you see the ✓ symbol, it means that the connection was successful and Sky Q is connected to the Internet.
